Let’s dive into their heartwarming story!
Welcome to Emily and Tyler’s unforgettable wedding celebration! Set against the breathtaking backdrop of the Collegiate Peak Mountains located in Buena Vista, Colorado, their special day was filled with love, laughter, and cherished moments. From their intimate private vow ceremony to the joyous post-ceremony festivities with friends, this couple embraced every aspect of their wedding with open hearts and a willingness to go with the flow.
Join me as I dive into the details of their beautiful day & love story. Tyler and Emily’s connection goes way back to their childhood, babies, actually. Their dads were close friends who bonded over years of playing volleyball together. Little did they know that their father’s friendship would pave the way for a beautiful love story between Emily & Tyler years later.
As they grew older their paths diverged, but fate had other plans in store for them. Just two weeks before Emily was set to embark on her journey for her master’s degree overseas, she unexpectedly crossed paths with Tyler once again. It was as if time had stood still, and their connection was reignited with a spark that could not be ignored. From that moment on, their love story took on a new chapter, filled with adventure, growth, and a deep understanding of each other’s dreams and aspirations.
When the time came to tie the knot, Emily and Tyler knew that their wedding would be a celebration of not only their love but also the merging of their two families. Emily & Tyler got married at Emily’s parents’ mountain house. It was a picturesque location, surrounded by breathtaking views of nature. Originally, they had planned for a destination wedding, but due to multiple date cancellations, they decided to have an intimate and perfect day closer to home.
The wedding was filled with love, joy, and the presence of their closest family and friends. The couple exchanged heartfelt vows, in a private vow ceremony in the mountains with only Tyler, Emily, and their sweet Mamas present (Oh yes, and of course, Muah, capturing it all with my lens). The couple then included a shortened version with her friends and family, once they returned from the private vow commitment.
Emily describes why this was such an important part of their big day, “We decided to do a private vow ceremony and first look, which I cannot recommend enough! Being able to see each other before walking down the aisle helped this anxious, non-attention-loving bride so much. We decided to let our moms come since they wanted to hear our vows, and having them there was very special. We were also able to utilize Kristin and her amazing eye for photos by doing a bunch of one-on-one photos. It also let Tyler and me hang out before we walked down the aisle. This really was such a special thing we did, and I cannot recommend it enough.
Emily’s words beautifully capture the essence of their private vow ceremony. It was a moment of intimacy and connection, allowing them to calm their nerves and share their love in a more personal setting. By including their mothers, they added an extra layer of significance to the occasion, making it even more meaningful. The one-on-one photos we were able to capture, showed the raw emotions and genuine happiness of the couple, creating lasting memories. This unique experience truly made their wedding day even more special and unforgettable.”
Photographer Insight: This time allows you and your partner alone time on your big day, believe it or not, that can be hard to come by. It is a time in your day when no one is directing you (not even me) or scripting you, it’s y’alls time so enjoy that raw intimate moment together. This can easily be combined with your First Look & will allow for extra time to possibly knock out some of your bridal & family photos before your ceremony (just helps get y’all to the party quicker)!!
When I asked the couple what advice they have for other couples getting married, they said, “Everything will work out exactly how it’s meant to. Don’t get stuck on one plan or part as chances are it will change. Be willing to go with the flow. Your wedding will be beautiful!” They emphasize the importance of being flexible and not getting too attached to specific plans, as things may change. They believe that everything will work out in the end and that the wedding will be beautiful regardless.
That beautiful outlook helped create an atmosphere that was filled with excitement and anticipation as everyone celebrated the union of two souls who had known each other since childhood. It was a day of pure happiness and the beginning of a beautiful journey as husband and wife.
Additionally, I asked Emily to describe how we worked together for her big day!!
What was it like having Kristin as your wedding day photographer?
“Kristin showed up and instantly knew what she needed for photos. She was able to be in the background when necessary and help our sometimes awkward selves get the best possible pictures. She directed people with what they needed to do (officiant, people for first looks) and we all agreed she was a top part of our day. We wish we could have had her for longer!”
Why would you recommend other couples hire Kristin as their wedding day photographer?
“Kristin was seriously so amazing. She had such a calm demeanor and was so willing and able to go with our ideas of a private vow renewal and crazy volleyball people. She delivered such an amazing gallery of photos and we love each of them so so much. She had the best locations for us to take our photos at (Up Cottonwood Pass, Mt Princeton, and by the river in downtown BV).”
She was totally willing to have as many or as few calls/emails/texts as we wanted, and I seriously cannot recommend her enough.
